Synopsis & Scholarly Abstract
This book highlights the role of human papillomavirus in the development of carcinoma of the uterine cervix. HPV is already established as a viral carcinogen that has an afnity towards squamous cells. Hence, it is a risk factor for carcinoma of other sites /organ that is lined by squamous epithelium. Availability of FDA approved vaccine against HPV16 & HPV 18 help to reduce the burden of HPV related carcinoma in the world. This book is an extract of my PhD thesis ' Cytological & Histological Study of Uterine Cervix in relation to Human Papilloma Virus Infection'. I am thankful to all my teachers from lower primary school to the post graduate level who have guided and inspire me in the entire life.
